About Patrician II: Quest for Power
Join the Hanseatic League – a group of daring traders banded together to trade with foreign lands and become a patrician in this third installment of the Patrician series. You play the role of an emulous trader determined on succeeding and shaping your own empire by gathering information, setting up trading offices across the Haneseatic League and trading in those offices all the while battling off pirates along the trade routes. Start off as a shopkeeper with one ship buying and selling in your town and others in the hanse. The more money you make and the higher your reputation in your town (as well as others) will afford you higher titles and privileges such as building workshops to increase production to trade more. Not just a trading simulation anymore as you can play a role in politics and work your way from a lowly shopkeeper to Lord Mayor to Alderman. You will have four different ships to build and upgrade to either fight back at pirates or try and out run them. Sea battles with pirates are played out either manually by the player or automatically by the computer. As the seasons change so does the graphics in towns to show fall leaves, snow covered roofs etc., and even ports that freeze over in the winter..
